Harry Hubinger of Branch 8, and the State Growth & Membership Chair, has written a four part series for the “ALIVE East Bay” publication.  This well written series describes Rob as he becomes interested in SIR and tries out the activities.  Thanks to Branch 8 for publicizing this series and providing the link at

Tribute to Skip Ross

Web Master for Branch 35 for 12 years

Ross, Skip copy

SKIP

This new website rests on the foundations set up by Skip Ross. He built the Branch 35 website we have been using for 12 years.
After building the website, Skip managed the website. He processed the changing monthly information such as Trail Tips, the Calendar, and the write-up on the topic of the next luncheon speaker, and making changes as required.

When he moved to Oregon, he continued managing our website.

When Skip built the Branch 35 website 12 years ago, he wrote it from scratch in code (HTML). That takes real technical skill. Fortunately for me the new website is based on current software which significantly reduces the difficulty of creating a website.

In Skip’s words, “the original site was established in 1999. I proposed it to then Big Sir Ned Banton, and he enthusiastically agreed. He was making a big push to increase Branch 35 membership, and felt that having a branch website would help. Ours was one of the first Sir websites.”

We have reason to be thankful for Skip’s efforts.

I want to take this moment to show my respect for him.
